• Volume Count drop-down box - Number of LDEVs that form a LUSE volume.
For example, if you select 3 in the Volume Cou nt combo box, three LD EVs are expected to form a
LUSE volume, and then three LD EVs are added to the Expanded LDEVs list.
Note:
You can select
an
LDEV only from the Volume Count drop-down box. Y ou cannot select a L USE volume.
• Expand ed LDEVs list - LDEVs that are selected as LUSE volume components. An LD EV is added to
this
list when the <<Add button is selected (see below).
• Sel e cted LDEVs - Number of LDEVs selected in the Expand ed LDEVs list.
• Number of LDEVs - Number of LDEVs displayed in the Expanded LDEVs list.
• Size - Total capacity of the LDEVs displayed in the Expanded LDEVs list, in either GB or MB.
• Free LDEVs table - LDEVs or LUSE volumes selected in the Select an LDEV drop-down box that
are eligible to become par t of a LUSE volume.
Note:
The drop-down lists on the upper-right of the Free LDEVs table enable you to narrow entries
in this
table. If you select an LDKC and a CU from the LDKC and CU drop-down lists, the Free
LDEVs table displays only the LDEVs belonging to the selected LDKC and CU.
•
LDKC:CU:LDEV:LDEVstatus icon(see Table 4 on page 18) and the LDKC, CU, and LDEV
numbers. If the selected LDEV is a LUSE volume, the LDEV number of the top LD EV i n the
LUSE volume is displayed.
Note:
An LDEV number that ends with a # indicates that the LDEV is an external volume
(for example, 00:00:01# ). For details regarding external volumes, see HP StorageWorks
XP24000 External Storage Software User’s Guide.
Note:
An LD EV numb er that ends with a letter V indicates that the LD EV is a virtual volume
(V-VOL) for XP Snapshot (for example, 00:00:01V). For details regarding V-VOLs, see HP
StorageWorks XP24000 Snapshot User’s Guide.
Note
: An LDEV number that ends with a let ter X indicates that the LDEV is a virtual volume
(V-VOL) for XP Thin Provisioning (for example, 00:00: 01 X). For details regarding V-VOLs, see
HP StorageWorks XP24000 Thin Provisioning Software User’s Gu ide.
• RAID : RAID level of the LDEV.
Note:
The RAID level is left unspecified with a hyphen (-) when the LD EV is an external LU
or
virtual volume (V-VOL).
• PG: Parity g roup. If the LDEV extends over two or more parity groups, the PG column displays
the
smaller parity group number.
Note:
A parity group number that starts with a let ter E indicates that the parity group consists
of on e or more external LUs (for example, E1-1).
Note:
A parity group number that starts with a letter V indicates that the parity group consists
of one or more virtual volumes (V-VOLs). (for example, V1-1 ).
• CLPR: The CLPR number. For detailed information about CLPRs (cache logical par titions), see
HP StorageWorks XP24000 Disk/Cache Partition User’s Guide.
• Sel e cted LDEVs: N um ber of LDEVs selected in the Free LDEVs table.
• <<Add - Moves a selected LDEV from the Free LDEVs list to the Expanded LDEVs list.
• Del ete> > - Moves a selected LDEV from the Expanded LDEVs list to the Free LDEVs list.
• Set - Creates a LUSE volume consisting of the volumes currently in the Expanded LDEVs list. The
new LUSE is displayed in
blue bold italics
in the LDEV Detail table (on the upper-right corner of the
LUN E xpansion tab), b ut is not actually created until you click the Apply button.
• Apply - Imp lements the settings to the storage system.
• Cancel - Cancels the settings.
