Installing a half-height or full-height media device

The server includes five removable media bays. The server ships with an IDE CD-ROM drive and the other

four bays are vacant. You can install two full-height removable or up to four half-height media devices in

the removable media cage. To install a half-height or full-height media device:

1. Power down the server (on page 16).

2. Do one of the following:

• Open or remove the tower bezel, as needed ("Open or remove the tower bezel" on page 17).

• Extend the server from the rack (on page 16).

3. Remove the access panel (on page 18).

4. Remove the media bay blank ("Accessing the removable media cage" on page 38).

5. Install the guide screws ("Identifying guide screws" on page 39), if applicable.

6. Slide the drive into the bay until it clicks into place.
