NOTE:

If you start the split pair operation with ofﬂine backup, but have not yet connected the target ﬁle system to

the NAS package at the secondary site, ﬁnish connecting the target ﬁle system to the NAS Package, and

then start the previously described operations. If you start the split pair operation with online backup, but

do not connect the target ﬁlesystemtotheNASpackageatthesecondarysite,ﬁnish connecting the

target ﬁle system to the NAS Package, and then start the previously described operations (see Splitting

Continuous Access XP Journal volume pairs).

To delete the Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair in PSUS status without using the S-VOL ﬁle system:

1. At the secondary site, terminate the program that accesses the S-VOL.

2. At the secondary site, delete CIFS/NFS shares using the enas_nfsdelete and enas_cifsdelete

commands, and unmount S-VOL using the enas_fsumount command.

NOTE:

When the S-VOL is the ﬁ le system managed by NAS Sync Image, delete the CIFS/NFS

shares under the differential-data snapshots using the enas_nfsdelete and enas_cifsdelete

commands, unmount the differential-data snapshots using the syncumount command, and

release the differential-data storage devices using the syncstop command.

3. At the seco

ndary site, delete the S-VOL ﬁle system using the enas_fsdelete command.

4. At the primary site, delete the Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair.

sudo pairsplit {-g group-name|-d volume-name}-S

5. At the primary site, verify that the Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair has been deleted.

sudo pair

volchk {-g group-name|-d volume-name}

pairvolchk: Volstat is P-VOL.[status = COPY] => Deleting

pairvolchk: Volstat is P-VOL.[status = SMPL] => Deleted

6. At the pri

mary site and the secondary site, stop RAID Manager XP.

sudo horc

mshutdown.sh (1-instance conﬁguration)

sudo hor

cmshutdown.sh 16 17 (2-instance conﬁguration)

2. At the primary site, verify that the Continuous Access XP Journal volume pair has been deleted.

sudo pairvolchk {-g group name|-d volume name}

pairvolchk: Volstat is P-VOL.[status = COPY] => Deleting

pairvolchk: Volstat is P-VOL.[status = SMPL] => Deleted

3. At the secondary site, release the device ﬁle used in the target ﬁle system.
