The container release cache feature is not available in a UNIX
environment.
Working with Container Rebuild
A spare disk is a disk that is configured to automatically receive data
from a failed partition or disk in a redundant container
configuration. The CLI allows you to assign and remove spare disks
to and from a single container or to all containers managed by a
controller. One or more spare disks assigned to all containers
managed by a controller is known as global container spare.
When a container is already assigned a spare disk, additional
assigned disks are added to the container’s list of spare disks.
Although all container types accept spare assignments, only mirror
set and RAID-5 set container types use the spare assignment if a disk
fails.
The CLI allows you to do the following:
Assign one or more spare disks to a single container
Remove spare disks assigned to a single container
Assign one or more spare disks to all containers managed by a
controller
Remove spare disks assigned to all containers managed by a
controller
Assigning Spare Disks to a Single Container
The CLI allows you to assign one or more spare disks to a single
container. To assign one or more automatic spare disks for a single
container, use the container set spare command.
