2. The information in the Physical Disks section identiﬁes which disk has failed. The serial number is the

only uni

que identiﬁer of the disk. It is very important to ma ke a note of the physical disk number and

the serial number as they appear on this screen BEFORE you remove the disk. The serial number is

the only way that you can be sure you are replacing the correct disk.

CAUTION:

If you replace the wrong disk, you could lose all your data.

3. Make sure there are no backup or restore jobs in progress and that no future jobs are scheduled

tostartwhilstthesystemisshutdown. SelectShutdown on the Web Managem ent interface and

click Power Off to power down the HP D2D Backup System safely.

4. Disconnect the network cable a nd the power c ord from the HP D2D Backup System.

5. Loosen the captive thumbscrew (1) located on the rear edge of the acc ess panel. Slide the panel

back about 2.5 cm (1.0 in). to remove the access panel.
