interval causes Management Infrastructure software to check for trees less often, which decreases
network traffic but also decreases interface responsiveness.
SPoG port
This security setting establishes the port for the Management Infrastructure SPoG web service.
The default is 0 (zero), which allows Management Infrastructure software to assign the port number.
If you specify a port number, it must be in the range of 1024 to 65535.
Typical use. To accommodate environments where corporate policy or network infrastructures
(firewalls, proxies, etc.) require that specific ports be used. For example, if a server-assigned port
number might not work with a firewall, you can specify a port number.
Considerations. The specified port must be free every time the Management Infrastructure service
starts; otherwise, the service will not be available.
SPoG time-out
This tree integrator setting establishes how long Management Infrastructure software waits before
ending a SPoG session. Timing is relative to the last communication with the SPoG session.
The default is 120 seconds (2 minutes).
If you change the setting, it must be in the range of 1 to 3600 seconds (1 hour).
Typical use. To have Management Infrastructure software store SPoG session information for longer
or shorter periods of time.
Considerations. A short time-out removes session information sooner, which frees memory but may
cause slower tree updates.
Tree age time-out
This tree integrator setting establishes how long Management Infrastructure software waits before
removing a tree. Timing is relative to the last communication with the tree.
The default is 30 seconds.
If you change the setting, it must be in the range of 1 to 3600 seconds (1 hour).
Typical use. Shorten the time-out if the Management Infrastructure interface is not responsive. In-
crease the time-out if the network is unreliable.
Considerations. A short time-out causes trees to be removed faster than a longer time-out. However,
if the time-out is too short, trees could be repeatedly displayed, removed, and displayed again
(looping).
Tree decorator port
This security setting establishes the port for the Management Infrastructure tree decorator web service.
