NOTE:

HP StorageWorks DAT 72x10 autoloaders do not have termination power enabled, termination must be

supplied by the host.

Drivers and Backup Software

Installing drivers on Windows

Two drivers are required in order to use HP StorageWorks DAT Tap e Autoloaders.

• hpdat: This is the driver that works with all H P DAT tape products.

• hpdatc hg: This is the driver for the autoloader robotics.

Both drivers are regularly updated and are available on the HP StorageWorks CD-ROM or on the

Support web site.

The CD contains a driver install package for the following Microsoft Windows op erating systems:

Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003. If you prefer to use Windows Device Ma n ager to

install the drivers manually, you will ﬁnd them in the drivers directory on the CD-ROM.

IMPORTANT:

We strongly recommend that you use the installer package on the HP StorageWorks CD-ROM to install

the

drivers BEFORE you connect the autoloader.

drivers may be provided from time to tim e on the HP support web site

Recommended install process, before connecting the autoloader

1. Insert the StorageWorks CD.

2. Select the drivers link.

3. Run the automated installer and follow the process to load the driver onto the system.

4. Once yo u have installed the autoloader and rebooted, as described in this guide, the autoloader will

detected automatically and the correct driver will be used.

not already installed driv ers, the Windows Found New Hardware wizard may run when you

power on the server and autoloader.
