
1. Use Previous or Next to select from the three possible destinations as follows:
•Right Magazine
•Left Magazine
•Drive
2. When the correct destination is displayed, press Enter to select.
3. If the destination selected is Left Magazine,use Previous or Next to display the slot. O nly
empty slots will be listed.
Once the correct slot is displayed, press Enter to select. The autoloader will now move the cartridge
from the selected source to the selected destination. While the cartridge is being moved, the screen will
display Moving Cartridge. Once the cartridge has been moved, the screen will display either
Move
Complete,or Move Failed.If the move failed, press Enter to display the error c ode and
message explaining the failure.
Updating tape car tridge inventory
The Per form Inventory option lets you update the inventory status of the autoloader. The autoloader will
analyze eac
h
slot and d rive to determine if cartridges are present or not.
1. From the Home screen, press Previous or Next until the screen displays Operations.Press
Enter to
select.
2. Press Prev
ious or Next
until the screen d isplays Perform Inventory.Press Enter to select.
3. While the inventory is in progress, the screen will display Inventory in Progress.
The autoloader will now check the drive and each slot for the presence of a cartridge in order to update
the
inventory information.
NOTE:
This command is only needed if the inventory in the autoloader is different than the inventory displayed
on
the fro
nt
panel, which would not happen under normal conditions.
Resetting the autoloader
This o ption resets the autoloader and the tape drive within the a utoloader and forces a new cartridge
inventory, clearing any current error condition.
CAUTION:
This option interrupts any current backup or restore operation and will cause the operation to fail. It is
primarily used if the autoloader is i n an error state.
To reset the autoloader:
1. From the Home screen, press Previous or Next until the screen displays Operations.Press
Enter

2. Press Previous or Next until the screen d isplays Reboot Autoloader.Press Enter to select.
Activating OBD R mode
HP One-Button Disaster Recovery is a standard feature on all HP StorageWorks DAT autoloaders and
tape
drives. However, it c an only be used with specificconfigurations and will only recover the server to
which the tape drive is directly connected.
