
Tracing order
While and move the cursor along a t or from point to point in a scatter plot, use and
to choose the scatter plot or t you wish to trace. For each active analysis (S1–S5), the tracing order is
the scatter plot
rst and the t second. So if both S1 and S2 are active, the tracer is by default on the S1
scatter plot when you press . Press to trace the S1 t. At this point, press to return to
the S1 scatter plot or again to trace the S2 scatter plot. Press a third time to trace the S2 t. If
you press
a fourth time, you will return to the S1 scatter plot. If you are confused as to what you are
tracing, just tap to see the denition of the object (scatter plot or t) currently being traced.
Plot view: menu items
The menu items in Plot view are as follows:
Button Purpose
Displays the Zoom menu.
Turns trace mode on or o.
Enables you to specify an x-value on the curve of best t to jump to (or a data point to jump to if your
cursor is on a data point rather than on the curve of best t).
Shows or hides a curve that best ts the analysis active in Symbolic view.
Opens the Function menu. See Function menu on page 258.
Shows or hides the menu buttons.
Function menu
The menu items in the Function menu are as follows:
Option Purpose
Fit Shows or hides a curve that best ts the analysis active in Symbolic view. You can also tap the button
in the Plot view menu.
Sketch Enables you to sketch a function t curve for the scatter plot with your nger.
Denition
Displays the denition of the current scatter plot or t curve. Press or to switch
between the scatter plot and the t curve and to scroll through each plot active in Symbolic view.
Sketch
The Sketch option opens the Plot view, with a message displayed at the bottom of the screen to sketch a
function t with your nger. You can sketch a new function if you do not like your previous sketch. After you
